Authorization Failure Fee Effective February 20th

VCCPOOL has received notification from our banking partner regarding a new authorization failure fee for cards 428803, 428813, and 555782. Effective February 20th, a fee of $0.43 per failed authorization will apply. This fee will be deducted from your wallet. Unbind your card at merchants when not in use to avoid unnecessary charges.

Fee Structure Update

VCCPOOL has received official notification from our banking partner regarding a new authorization failure fee for specific card products. This change is mandated by the card networks (Visa, Mastercard) and will take effect on February 20th, 2026.

Affected Cards and Fee Details

The following card products will be subject to the new fee:

  • Card 428803
  • Card 428813
  • Card 555782

Authorization Failure Fee

Effective February 20th, 2026, a fee of $0.43 per transaction will apply for every failed authorization, regardless of the reason. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Insufficient balance
  • Card lost, frozen, or already closed/cancelled
  • Transaction declined by the issuer or card network
  • Any authorization request that does not result in an approved transaction

When a merchant submits an authorization request to the card network and the request fails, the $0.43 fee is incurred. Even if you have already cancelled your card, any subsequent authorization attempts by merchants (e.g. recurring billing, retries) will still trigger this fee. This requirement comes from the card networks and applies to all issuers.

Fee Deduction

This fee will be deducted from your wallet. Please ensure sufficient wallet balance and take the steps below to minimise unnecessary authorization attempts.

Recommendations for Users

To reduce failed authorizations and associated fees, we advise you to:

  1. Unbind your card at merchant platforms as soon as you stop using it
    • Many subscriptions or stored payment methods periodically attempt to charge or authorize your card. If the card is inactive, insufficient, or cancelled, these attempts will fail and incur the $0.43 per failure fee.
  2. If you cannot log in to a merchant platform to unbind
    • Contact the merchant’s customer support via email and request removal of your card from their stored payment methods. Keep a record of your correspondence.
  3. Unbind before cancelling a card
    • Complete unbinding at all relevant merchants before cancelling the card to avoid post-cancellation authorization attempts and fees.

Important Note

This fee structure is required by the card networks (Visa, Mastercard) and our banking partner. VCCPOOL is informing you of this change in line with our commitment to transparency. If you hold or have used any of the affected card products, we recommend reviewing where your card is stored and unbinding wherever it is no longer needed.

VCCPOOL's Commitment

VCCPOOL remains committed to providing transparent and competitive financial services. We will continue to:

  • Communicate fee changes clearly and in a timely manner
  • Work with our banking and card network partners
  • Maintain high-quality customer support

Conclusion

These fee changes are part of the broader card network and banking requirements. We encourage you to unbind your cards at merchants when not in use to minimise authorization failure fees.
